"The house we hope to build is not for my generation but for yours. It is your future that matters. And I hope that when you are my age, you will be able to say as I have been able to say: We lived in freedom. We lived lives that were a statement, not an apology."

Media = LIBERALS

I've had enough, quit infusing what is supposed to be light-hearted family television with political issues! Take 7th Heaven for example...it used to be a decent show. Now, every Monday, the episode takes on some controversial topic focusing on one side of the spectrum (and I bet you can guess which side that is). Unfortunately, this is what 'wholesome and educational television' has come to. The Camden family is against guns, the war in Iraq and suprisingly in favor of relying on food stamps and Social Security to solve everyone's problems! Because in tonight's episode, a family struggled with making ends meet. Thanks to hybrid car-driving Reverend Camden, they were educated on the services that our government provides them. Why must liberals always try to weasel their way into our minds and slowly brainwash our families? It's because their ideas are so stupid that if they actually came right out and said it, there wouldn't be anyone but Michael Moore and Hillary Clinton left to defend their position.

  1. I'm glad someone else noticed the liberalism in 7th Heaven!

  2. Last week, Republicans sent their minions to the "Liberal" media to protest the term "nuclear option" as a creation of the Democrats. Within ONE DAY, the LA Times, Washington Post, NPR and NBC News were all refering to the "Constitutional Option" and calling the nuclear option a "term coined by Democrats." It took a 5 minute Nexis search to find out that it was in fact TRENT LOTT who coined the term "nuclear option."

    But the LIBERAL MEDIA couldn't pull that off. Instead...all those raging media liberals called it the "Constitutional Option" for another couple of days before finally stopping...without any corrections.

    Those darn media liberals, always pandering to the...right.

  4. And to Rob, to say that the media panders to the left is off based. There are two medias in this nation today, one the traditional mainstream media, and the other the "new" media. The former consists of CNN, MSNBC, the three networks, and the major newspapers such as The New York Times, LA Times, Washington Post, etc. The latter consists of FOX News, talk-radio, the blogosphere, etc. The MSM is undeniably liberal, while the New Media is by and large conservative.

    However the whole emergence of the conservative new media is due entirely to the liberalness of the Mainstream or old media. Conservatives had no voice and did not receive a fair shake in the mainstream media, which drove them to other mediums. New media outlets such as FOX are successful because they are unlike any other news outlet in the nation. Whereas liberals have CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, and obviously CBS to turn to, Conservatives have only FOX News. The liberal viewer ship in this country is shared by all those stations, while FOX News is the one and only station that is hospitable to conservatives. If you were to combine the viewer ships of all those liberal networks the sheer numbers would crush that of FOX, and the network nightly news still holds the largest share of viewers each night, though that number has dwindled substantially over the past decade or so.

    So you can easily argue that the new media favors conservatives, but to say the media in general supports conservatives is wrong. The rise of the new media is directly a result of the old media’s failure to demonstrate any ideological diversity whatsoever, and this emergence is in many ways a conservative rebellion.

  5. I didn't see the episode, but as a New Jerseyan, the name "Camden" was a pretty big tip-off ...

  6. It's OK, Cracker! It's hard for me even to believe that I finally posted something! Hopefully I'll be *inspired* (or rather, ticked off enough) to write new things soon. Geoff is the God of my blogging universe.

    You guys just really have to have it your way? No in between; no compromise. It's pathetic that you're talking about a tv show to begin with.
    right wingers have intimidated the media so that it is way less liberal or for that matter balanced.
    give yourselves enough rope and you will hang yourselves.
    I've forgotten how little tolerance right wingers have.
    Go wrap yourselves in the flag.
